Artist’s statement

The basis of my work comes from exploring ideas of self, it looks at the fragile but steadfast nature of ourselves.

A larger part of the work is about questioning how we can view the world and our own behaviours in regards to the idea / belonging.

Identity and individuality can move in countless ways within one person, id can sway from a national, cultural as well as political to something more contained, personal intertwining with a more specific sense of self such as sexual and gender identity.

We have diverging ways on looking at people and creating ways to exist for the better or worse.

I look at many differing aspects of humanity such as cultural identity, poverty, health and LGBTQIA+ etc. How we take on or go against these identities, as well as how certain aspects of identity is thrust upon us.
